Mitsubishi Electric Essential MSZ-HR35VF
829.99£ (2)
Mitsubishi's most affordable split, from the Essential range: 3.40 kW reversible cooling and heating for a room up to 35 m², without the premium extras.
- Power : 3.40 kW cooling / 3.60 kW heating (12000 BTU/h)
- Type : Reversible split, Essential range, single white finish
- Recommended room size : Up to 35 m² (375 sq ft)
- A genuine 12000 BTU Mitsubishi split for under £900
The Mitsubishi Electric MSZ-HR35VF is a reversible fixed split air conditioner from the Essential range, rated at 3.40 kW cooling (12000 BTU/h, Class A++, SEER 6.20) and 3.60 kW heating (Class A+, SCOP 4.30). Recommended for a room of about 25 to 35 m², it drops to 22 dB(A) indoors. The MELCloud WiFi module is available as an option, not fitted as standard. Sold as a kit with a refrigerant line pre-chargeable up to 7 m, installation must be carried out by a certified professional.
Fitted for a homeowner who wanted a genuine reversible air conditioner without breaking the bank, in a living room of about 30 m². The kit stays simple: no presence sensor, no fancy filtration, just the essentials, as the range name suggests. Installation was no different from any standard split, with the factory pre-charge covering the short run to the outdoor wall without extra hassle. Once running, the room dropped from 28 to 23°C (82 to 73°F) in about half an hour, with measured noise around 24 to 26 dB(A) on low fan speed, decent without being remarkable. With MELCloud WiFi not fitted as standard, the supplied infrared remote is the only way to control it out of the box, which can catch you off guard if you're used to a more connected model. Heating mode proved effective even on a cool evening. For a mid-sized room and a tight budget, this model simply gets the job done without trying to impress.
Mitsubishi Electric Kirigamine Style MSZ-LN25VGV
1771.00€ (2)
Mitsubishi's quietest and most stylish split air conditioner, from the Kirigamine Style range, from 19 dB(A), for a bedroom or home office up to 25 m².
- Power : 2.50 kW cooling / 3.20 kW heating (9000 BTU/h)
- Type : Reversible split, premium design, 3D i-See presence sensor
- Noise level : From 19 dB(A) indoors (quiet mode)
- Just 19 dB(A), one of the quietest splits on the market
The Mitsubishi Electric Kirigamine Style MSZ-LN25VGV is a reversible fixed split air conditioner rated at 2.50 kW cooling (9000 BTU/h, Class A+++, SEER 10.50) and 3.20 kW heating (Class A+++, SCOP 5.20). Recommended for a room of about 20 to 25 m², it drops to 19 dB(A) in quiet mode. Featuring the 3D i-See sensor, the Plasma Quad Plus filter and built-in WiFi (MELCloud), it comes as a ready-to-fit kit with a pre-charged refrigerant line. Installation must be carried out by a certified professional.
Fitted recently in a homeowner's bedroom where discretion mattered as much visually as acoustically. The Kirigamine Style's flat panel and pearl white finish practically disappear once mounted above the bed, a world away from the bulkier casings you usually see on this kind of job. On the install side, the 3 m factory pre-charge was plenty for this run to the outdoor wall, no extra vacuum pumping needed. Once running, the room dropped from 27 to 21°C (81 to 70°F) in about twenty minutes, with a measured noise level around 20 to 22 dB(A) on low fan speed, practically silent at night with quiet mode switched on. The 3D i-See sensor clearly does its job: airflow consistently avoids blowing straight onto the bed once it detects where you are. My one gripe is the price, noticeably above Mitsubishi's more basic ranges for what is, on paper, a fairly standard 9000 BTU output. But for a bedroom or office where quiet matters above everything else, this remains one of the best picks on the market.
Mitsubishi Electric Kirigamine Style MSZ-LN50VGV
1979.99£ (2)
The bigger, more powerful sibling of the Kirigamine Style: 18000 BTU reversible for a large living room up to 50 m², the same premium design with more muscle.
- Power : 5.00 kW cooling / 6.00 kW heating (18000 BTU/h)
- Type : Reversible split, premium design, 3D i-See presence sensor
- Recommended room size : 40 to 50 m² (large living room, open plan)
- Cools up to 50 m², versus 25 m² for the smaller LN25
The Mitsubishi Electric Kirigamine Style MSZ-LN50VGV is a reversible fixed split air conditioner rated at 5.00 kW cooling (18000 BTU/h, Class A+++, SEER 8.50) and 6.00 kW heating (Class A++, SCOP 4.60). Recommended for a large living room or open-plan space of about 40 to 50 m², it drops to 27 dB(A) minimum indoors. Featuring the 3D i-See sensor, Plasma Quad Plus filter and built-in WiFi, it comes as a ready-to-fit kit with a refrigerant line pre-charged up to 7 m. Installation must be carried out by a certified professional.
Fitted in the large kitchen-diner of a newer build, exactly the kind of open-plan space where the smaller Kirigamine Style LN25 simply wouldn't have cut it. With 5.00 kW cooling on tap, the room dropped from 29 to 22°C (84 to 72°F) in around thirty minutes, on a floor area of roughly 45 m² (485 sq ft), without ever sounding strained. The ready-to-fit kit, with its 7 m factory pre-charge, made short work of the run to the outdoor unit, noticeably bulkier than the LN25's at 40 kg. On noise, it's worth being honest: this is nowhere near the LN25's 19 dB(A), with a measured floor closer to 28 to 30 dB(A) on low fan speed, a clean whirr but a genuinely audible one in an otherwise silent room. The 3D i-See sensor keeps doing its job well at this scale, steering airflow away from people even with several occupants in the room. On heating, the 6.00 kW proved more than enough on a chilly evening. For a large living room or an open-plan space, this remains one of the most complete picks on the market for design and performance combined.
