Christophe Delpuech: Set up in a bedroom of around 14 m², this Arete One 12L stood out for its near-total absence of background noise once the compressor settled into a rhythm: on night mode, you genuinely have to listen closely to hear it, unlike other dehumidifiers I have tested that hum away continuously. Within a few nights, the displayed humidity dropped from around 68% to a comfortable 52%, with a 2.5-litre tank that easily lasts two to three days under normal use before needing to be emptied. The laundry mode proved handy on a rainy weekend for speeding up drying on a clothes airer, without a noticeable jump in the electricity bill. The HEPA H13 filter is a genuine plus over a plain dehumidifier: the air comes out noticeably fresher, useful during pollen season. Two honest gripes: the tank, smaller than on the 20 or 25-litre models in the same range, needs more frequent emptying under heavy use, and the lack of Wi-Fi or an app limits remote control, a feature reserved for the Arete Two model. For a bedroom or a small flat where quiet matters more than raw capacity, this 12L format nonetheless remains the most sensible choice in Meaco's line-up.
