I ran the LB 88 in my living room, around 30 m², for several weeks through a cold snap when the heating dries the air out fast. The dual-technology promise holds up: ultrasonic misting lifts humidity quickly, and switching on the heated evaporation stage gives real peace of mind about the hygiene of the mist being released. The backlit control ring is pleasant to use, and the 6-litre tank comfortably lasts a full day of continuous running. The aroma compartment is a genuine bonus: a few drops of essential oil and the whole room benefits, without needing a separate diffuser. Two real drawbacks after extended use: my fairly hard tap water quickly left a white residue around the nozzle despite the anti-limescale pads supplied, and a full tank is heavy enough that repositioning it on the base without spilling a little water takes some care. For a large living room or an open-plan kitchen-diner, the LB 88 remains one of the most complete humidifiers I have tested in this price bracket.
