The Engel swing compressor didn't miss a beat, even wedged at an angle on a shelf in the boot during the roughest tracks near the North Cape. The external digital thermometer turned out to be genuinely useful day to day: no more lifting the lid twenty times to check whether yesterday's catch was still holding temperature. What struck me most was its versatility: switching from fridge mode (+10°C) to freezer mode (-18°C) in a few minutes let me freeze ice packs overnight to get through the next day without power. Two honest downsides: at 22 kg empty, this isn't a cooler you want to load and unload at every stop, it's better installed once and left in the van.
