In detail: CHARMP Rechargeable Waist Fan 7-in-1

The CHARMP Waist Fan introduces a format that's still rare in our nomadic fan selection: rather than being held or set on a desk, it clips straight onto a belt via its rear clip, for genuinely hands-free use. The same unit also hangs around the neck or stands flat like a classic desk fan, making it a versatile format for anyone who needs both hands free continuously, on a jobsite, in the garden, fishing, or out hiking.

Its centrepiece is a rechargeable 10000mAh battery, one of the most generous in its category, delivering up to 24 hours of continuous airflow on low speed. It also doubles as an emergency power bank through a dedicated USB-A output port, handy for topping up a phone on the go without carrying a separate power bank. The unit itself charges via USB-C, with a full charge taking about 6 hours.

The brushless motor drives turbo blades rated up to 15500RPM, with airflow adjustable across 3 speeds (low, medium, high) for a claimed noise level of 45 to 60dB(A) at 1 metre depending on intensity. Unlike a classic fan with exposed blades, the blades here sit fully enclosed behind a protective grille, a genuine safety benefit for extended wear on the body, backed up by anti-tangle clips that keep clothing clear.

The 7-in-1 design adds several useful extras: an LED work light, a flashing red-and-blue SOS alarm for visibility in an emergency after dark, and 360° airflow. The ABS and silicone housing, rated shock resistant, rounds out a build aimed squarely at outdoor use, in a compact footprint of 8.9 x 4.8 x 11.2cm and a contained weight of about 360 grams.

Its main limitation is the belt clip, the most mechanically stressed part in daily use, which is worth handling without forcing to keep it working well over time. For anyone after a genuinely hands-free fan, a clear differentiator from the rest of the catalogue built around handheld, desk, or classic clip formats, the CHARMP Waist Fan remains a convincing and versatile option.

Comparison

Among mini fans with a generous 10000mAh battery, the CHARMP Waist Fan regularly comes up against the Koonie Clip Fan 10000mAh, already in our selection, in searches like "waist fan vs clip fan 10000mAh". Here is how the two compare, based on manufacturer-published specifications.

In short, the CHARMP stands out for its genuinely hands-free wear at the waist or neck and its 7-in-1 design (light, SOS alarm, power bank), while the Koonie bets on a more universal clamp mount and an extra speed setting. For anyone who mainly wants both hands free continuously, the CHARMP remains the more fitting choice of the two.

Clipped to my belt for an afternoon of gardening, then worn around the neck on a walk, the CHARMP delivers on its main promise: genuine continuous airflow without ever holding anything. The enclosed turbo blades behind the grille are reassuring straight away, no worry about catching clothing or a finger the way you might with a classic bladed fan, even with the anti-tangle clips already built in. On low speed, the battery ran through an entire evening of camping without flagging, and I even used it as a top-up power bank to partially recharge my phone, a genuinely useful extra. The LED work light and flashing SOS alarm come into their own once night falls on a jobsite. The one real downside after several weeks of use: the belt clip, while reliable day to day, is the most mechanically stressed part and needs to be handled without forcing it. The waist-worn format genuinely changes things compared with a classic handheld mini fan whenever both hands are needed, jobsite, gardening, fishing, or just a hot day at the desk.
