In detail: WOLTU 30L compressor cooler with app control

This WOLTU compressor cooler differs from the brand's standard thermoelectric models with a genuine refrigeration circuit, able to drop as low as -20°C regardless of outside temperature. Available in 30, 40 or 50 litres depending on needs, it is organised into two distinct zones separated by a removable partition, letting you combine a very cold compartment for frozen goods with a milder compartment for drinks or fresh produce.

Its main distinguishing feature is control via a dedicated Bluetooth app, letting you remotely monitor the current temperature, the operating mode (ECO or MAX) and the connected battery's charge level, without having to open the lid or check a physical display. MAX mode allows a fast temperature drop when loading in produce at room temperature, at the cost of higher power draw than steady-state operation.

At 19.2 kg and 70.8 x 38 x 39.5 cm, it's fitted with all-terrain wheels with a 30° anti-shake system and a telescopic handle, designed for moving over rough ground during camping or off-road activities. Power supply runs on 12V or 24V DC via a 2.5-metre cable.

For vanlifers, campers or 4x4 enthusiasts after a connected compressor cooler with genuine remote management and a transportable format despite its weight, this WOLTU is an interesting alternative to more established market references.

Comparison

In the portable compressor cooler segment around 30 to 40 litres with connected features, this WOLTU is naturally compared with the EZA BLIZZ-E F40, another model with app control, in searches such as "connected compressor cooler comparison". Here's how the two compare, based on both manufacturers' public specifications.

I took it along for three days of wild camping in a 4x4, mainly wanting to test the dual-zone system and the app. The removable divider between the two compartments proved handy for keeping frozen goods well below 0°C on one side and just-chilled drinks on the other, without having to pick one setting over the other. The app works well over Bluetooth at close range, a genuine convenience for checking temperature and battery level without getting up from the hammock. The all-terrain wheels and telescopic handle made a real difference on a rocky track, where a standard cooler would have had to be carried by hand. At 19.2 kg empty, it stays heavy to carry without the wheels, worth planning for if the ground isn't suited to pulling it. MAX mode draws noticeably more than a standard ECO mode, worth watching on a small solar setup. For nomadic use with genuine remote-management comfort, it remains convincing.

Frequently asked questions: WOLTU 30L compressor cooler with app control

Control runs over direct Bluetooth between the smartphone and the cooler, without needing an internet connection, but with a range limited to the unit's immediate vicinity.

Yes, the removable partition physically separates the two compartments, each of which can be set to a different temperature within the unit's overall -20°C to +20°C range.

The all-terrain wheels with a 30° anti-shake system are designed for rough ground such as campsites or beaches, but remain less suited to very soft sand or stairs.

MAX mode speeds up the compressor for a fast temperature drop when loading in produce at room temperature, at the cost of higher power draw than ECO mode used to maintain a stable temperature.
