I took it along for a day at the beach, plugged into the cigarette lighter during the drive then unplugged once there. At just 2.8 kg, the lightness is the first thing that strikes you, easily carried in one hand thanks to its built-in handle, a real contrast to much heavier classic passive coolers once filled with ice. The 16°C temperature drop below ambient stays modest compared with a compressor cooler, enough to keep drinks cool for a good part of the day, but not for storage over several days in hot weather. The lockable lid is reassuring for car transport, avoiding surprises on the odd sharp turn.
