In detail: Arebos Thermoelectric Cool Box 20L
The Arebos 20L cooler runs on a thermoelectric (Peltier) module, with no refrigerant and no mechanical compressor. This technical choice makes it noticeably lighter (3.7kg) and quieter than an equivalent compressor cooler, at the cost of a more limited temperature gap, up to 20°C below ambient temperature.
Its distinguishing feature is a reversible function: a simple mode switch takes it from cooling to keeping warm, up to around 50°C, a real asset for carrying a hot meal on a trip or keeping medicine cool depending on the need. An indicator light shows the selected function.
Dual 12V (cigarette lighter cable included) and 230V (mains cable included) power supply allows use in a car, campervan or boat as much as at home, on a standard socket. The energy-saving mode (EC) cuts consumption on long trips without significantly compromising cooling performance.
The Arebos cooler shows a solid reception among buyers in this entry-level segment of thermoelectric electric coolers, driven by its value for money and its cooling/heating versatility.
