Tested in a home office of around 15m², the AC-5477 did its job without any fuss: the temperature drops noticeably within about twenty minutes, enough to make a room comfortable on a hot day. Its compact size really shows when it's time to put it away at the end of the season, taking up noticeably less cupboard space than the bulkier units in its class. The dehumidifying function, with its illuminated fill indicator, avoids the unpleasant surprise of an overflowing tank. The 65 dB noise level remains the main weak point: audible throughout, especially noticeable in the evening in an otherwise quiet room. For occasional use or a tight budget, it remains a fair option, provided you don't target too large a room or extended overnight use.
