Julien de Jurquet

Trained as an engineer and specialized in heat transfer, Julien de Jurquet joined the All Cool team in 2013. Misting relies on a precise physical principle: fine water droplets evaporate and draw heat away from the surrounding air or the skin. Julien knows that phenomenon inside out, which is exactly what made him the natural tester for the Misting category. As with everything he reviews, he distrusts marketing claims and prefers to measure what a device actually delivers rather than copy the spec sheet.

His method stays the same from one model to the next. Real misting flow rate at full output, temperature drop measured a few centimeters from the nozzles, battery life for rechargeable units, water consumption down to the liter for terrace kits: every misting product that passes through his hands leaves with a table of figures, not just an impression of freshness. Outside of testing, Julien is a mountain enthusiast. Every summer he sets off trekking in the Alps or the Pyrenees, which probably explains why he appreciates so much the cooling relief of a damp breeze in the middle of a heat wave. In a relationship and the father of one child, he shares that love of the outdoors with his family, between hiking and camping, whenever the schedule allows.
